“We now believe that Monsanto has control over as much as 90 percent of (seed genetics). This level of control is almost unbelievable,” says Neil Harl, agricultural economist at Iowa State University who has studied the seed industry for decades.   

Monsanto increased some corn seed prices last year by 25 percent, with an additional 7 percent hike planned for corn seeds in 2010. Monsanto brand soybean seeds climbed 28 percent last year and will be flat or up 6 percent in 2010

Monsanto is responsible for more than 50 Environmental Protection Agency Superfund sites and hundreds of toxic chemicals that contaminate every living thing on Earth.

More recently, Monsanto, (Monsanto’s Harvest of Fear), has moved on to harassing farmers who (they believe) refuse to abide by an agreement not to collect any of the seeds generated by plants that Monsanto considers its intellectual property (GMO’S) 

Despite Monsanto’s hype, Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), aren’t meant to feed the world or survive the evermore frequent droughts and floods brought on by global warming.  They are designed to sell Monsanto’s patented Roundup resistant or Bt seeds and pesticides now spliced into millions of acres of corn, cotton, soy, canola, sugar beets and alfalfa.  A 2009 study showed that, over the last 13 years, Roundup Ready crops have increased herbicide use by 383 million pounds.

The USDA has approved GMO alfalfa, but that approval has been overturned by a California judge at the request of farmers, environmentalists, and consumer activists.

When GM alfalfa and other Monsanto crops are planted in the open environment, they contaminate non-GMO and organic varieties as well as plant relatives. Any farmer whose crops are inadvertantly cross-pollinated with GMO crops is fined by Monsanto.  Organic crops that are accidentally cross-pollinated are no longer organic, and years of careful planting by organic farmers are futile.

This is more dangerous than the existing GMOs on the market (corn, soy, canola, cotton, and sugar) because alfalfa is a perennial, therefore  it’s pollinated by bees.  Those bees will spread GMO’s to everything they touch.  The contamination of organic alfalfa, and possibly several other foods, is a serious threat to public health and safety.

Alfalfa, which is used for livestock feed and can be planted in spring or fall, is the nation’s fourth largest crop and is grown on about 23 million acres in the country.

GMO alfalfa has not been adequately tested, NOBODY truly knows the effect it (and the millions of pounds of pesticides) will have on the animals that eat it, or the people who eat the animals.

NaturalNews has learned that the Shorty Awards are being operated fraudulently and that the voting results are fixed to exclude candidates who the editors at the Shorty Awards don’t want to win. The Shorty Awards, in short, has been revealed as wholly discredited.

This all started when Dr. Joseph Mercola and myself (the Health Ranger) were nominated for Shorty Awards in the category of health. Although I didn’t know much about the Shorty Awards at the time, I thought that winning such an award would have been a positive step towards mainstream recognition of the popularity of natural / alternative medicine. Within a few days, thanks to the votes of our very large base of readers, myself and Dr. Mercola were leading the health category, having taken the #1 and #2 positions. This was all done with legitimate votes from real people from all over the world who support our work.

I was set to take the top prize, and Dr. Mercola was in a solid second place when some vaccine pushers got word that a couple of “natural medicine whackos” (as they described us) were about to win the award, and they organized an opposition campaign to elect their own candidate — a virtually unknown doctor from Australia who held a strong opinion against homeopathy and natural medicine while pushing vaccines and pharmaceuticals. They began to call for others to vote for this “pro-vaccine” candidate, even though most people had no idea who she was and had never even read her work.

But the opposition didn’t stop there: They unleashed a campaign of slanderous and false accusations against NaturalNews readers, accusing the readers of somehow engaging in fraudulent voting. Without a shred of supporting evidence (because none exists), they accused us of rigging the contest. It’s ridiculous, of course. I personally have well over a million readers around the world. We are legitimate producers of natural health content who are both known all over the world, and we have very large numbers of followers and readers spanning well over a hundred countries. The fact that our vote numbers climbed rapidly was merely a reflection of the level of support for NaturalNews and the Health Ranger.

It wasn’t really surprising to see the vaccine quacks engaging in their false accusations, of course: Lying and cheating is par for the course for the vaccine and pharmaceutical industries. Their supporters apparently reflect that same lack of ethical behavior. They will apparently do anything to win, even if it means engaging in widespread false accusations and trying to get natural health people removed from the contest altogether.

The voters for the opposition mostly had no idea who or what they were even voting for. They were just doing what they were told by someone else in order to “beat the alternative medicine quacks.” Their votes contained reasons like, “I nominate Dr. __ for a Shorty Awards because I was told to.”

In addition to the false accusations of vote fraud — because these people just couldn’t stand being beaten fair and square — the vaccine pushers began tweeting votes aimed at myself and Dr. Mercola in their own made-up categories, some of which use profanity so I won’t repeat them here.

A voting competition can be a lot of fun, but when it starts to become a platform for profanity, false accusations and juvenile behavior, enough is enough. So I personally wrote the Shorty Awards editors and asked them to put a stop to these highly unprofessional practices.

In that letter, I wrote:

“If you allow this to continue, the integrity of the entire Shorty Awards will be destroyed. I had hoped this would be a fair, honest competition that highlights the usefulness of short-form content, but thanks to the rogue voters who are supporting Dr. Rachael Dunlop, the Shorty Awards are quickly becoming a platform for defamation and false accusations where those who can spread the most aggressive insults are allowed to win.”

I furthermore asked them to disqualify the vaccine doctor candidate because the votes for her were mostly from people who had no idea who she was in the first place. She was merely picked as a puppet to stand in opposition against myself and Dr. Mercola.

Within 24 hours, we received word from our supporters who were confused: The Health Ranger was deleted from the Shorty Awards health category and all the votes from all our supporters were wiped out!

That’s right: After pointing out how the opposition was cheating and posting false accusations, the Shorty Awards decided to simply delete the Health Ranger from their contest, thereby nullifying all the votes from NaturalNews readers and handing an automatic win to the vaccine pusher who was dishonestly propped up to the #1 position by voters who mostly had no idea who they were even voting for.

Shorty Awards destroys its own credibility

In deleting, without justification, all the votes from NaturalNews readers and deleting the Health Ranger from the contest, the Shorty Awards has destroyed its own credibility. It has essentially announced to the world that they will decide who wins and who loses, not the voters. If they don’t like you as a candidate, they will simply delete you from the contest — even if you’re legitimately winning!

I received no contact from the Shorty Awards. No warning. No accusation of vote fraud. We were never accused of any improper behavior whatsoever. In fact, we conducted our campaign with the utmost professionalism, encouraging our readers to help us win honestly and legitimately, which they attempted to do.

But our success was just too much for the opposition to believe. They couldn’t believe that natural health is now so popular all over the world. They couldn’t believe that people would actually go out of their way to vote for me because they wanted to support our work. And so the Shorty Awards simply nullified all those votes, slapping the NaturalNews readers in the face by zeroing out their candidate.

That’s what the Shorty Awards thinks you are worth, by the way: Zero! Your vote doesn’t count, you see. Only the votes for vaccine pushers count.

Shorty Awards come up short

In investigating this issue, I also learned that the Shorty Awards actually encourages defamatory attacks, slanderous accusations and profanity as part of their voting process. They do this by ignoring their responsibility to police and remove such unprofessional behavior on the part of candidates and voters. The vaccine-pushing candidate now “winning” the Shorty Awards in the health category has text on her website that says, “If water has memory, then homeopathy is full of shit.”

This is the mindset of the people the Shorty Awards is now supporting to win. They’ve essentially handed them the victory. In doing so, they have destroyed their own credibility.

In the end, I suppose winning a Shorty Award wasn’t really such a big deal. We don’t need recognition from some tiny website to legitimize our existence on the ‘net. But seeing how the Shorty Awards engages in outright vote fraud while rigging the awards just goes to prove, once again, how supporters of pharmaceutical medicine lie and cheat their way into getting what they want — ethics be damned!

This contest also goes to show you that vaccine pushers will do almost anything to shut down the opposition and try to silence anyone who has the intelligence to question the so-called “science” behind vaccines. Since they can’t win in an honest contest, they are forced to resort to cheating and lying in an attempt to rig the outcome. The Shorty Awards allowed them to do precisely that. You could accurately say, in essence, that the Shorty Awards has conspired with a group of liars and cheats to rig the outcome of their awards competition. That is a factual statement that will stand up in a court of law.

Let the Shorty Awards know what you think

If you voted for the Health Ranger, you should know that the Shorty Awards company has nullified your vote, deleted your nomination and essentially handed an automatic win to a vaccine pusher who has been shoved into the top position by a group of voters engaged in dirty, dishonest campaign tactics.

ADVERSE EFFECTS OF ADJUVANTS IN VACCINES

To even begin to understand the so-called “Law of Attraction” you need to start at the beginning and understand what an atom is.  The following is an easy to read report written by Seth when he was told to “make a model of an atom”  which is impossible to do if you have any clue as to what an atom really is.  Unfortunately our schools still teach children science of more than fifty years ago so they will not understand.  Fortunately, Seth is now home-schooled.  This is quite interesting and informative and basic enough to understand.  Enjoy.
The Story of The Atom and Why I Cannot Make a Model of One

Back in ancient times, people decided that everything was made of something, but they didn’t know what.  The idea of everything being made of really tiny bits of stuff was devised by Democritus in 530 B.C.  Back then people didn’t have last names.

Then, in 1808, an English school teacher and scientist named John Dalton proposed the “modern” atomic theory. Dalton decided that the atom was nothing more than a tiny indivisible sphere, and people believed this for a long time.

In 1897, a British physicist, J. J. Thomson did a series of experiments wiith electric current.
He ran electric current from one electrode to another through some gas. This produced a beam which he called a “cathode ray”.
The cathode rays were made of tiny, negatively charged particles, which he then called electrons.
He figured that the electrons must have come from the gas atoms or the metal electrode and since there was nothing else in the tubes, this made sense.
He also figured that the electrons must be really , really small, and that all atoms had them.

Later, an American Physicist named Robert Milikan measured the electrical charge of an electron. He also came to the conclusion that electrons were way smaller than any other part of the atom.

Then other scientists came up with these ideas:

1) Because the electron was negatively charged and atoms are electrically neutral, there must be a positive charge somewhere in the atom.
2) Because electrons are so much smaller than atoms, there must be other, more massive particles in the atom.

With all this information  Thomson came up with  a model of the atom that was like a watermelon. The red part was the positive charge and the seeds were the electrons.

Then Rutherford came along and did some experiments with gold.  He concluded that the gold atoms were mostly empty space.  However, some small region of the atom must be very dense . He called this dense region the nucleus, and decided that  the nucleus comprised most of the mass of the atom.
Then, to offset the negative influence of the electrons, he proposed that protons exist too, only in the nucleus.

So, he envisioned the atom as the positively charged nucleus in the center with the negatively charged electrons circling around it much like a planet with moons. Although he had no evidence that the electrons circled the nucleus, his model seemed to make sense.
This is the kind of model most kids in school make, but it does not make sense.  This is because
as the electrons move in a circle, they would lose energy and give off light. The loss of energy would slow the electrons down. Like any satellite, the slowing electrons would fall into the nucleus.

It was calculated that a Rutherford atom would last only billionths of a second before collapsing, so this is obviously not a good model to use.

In 1913, a Danish physicist named Niels Bohr came up with a new model of the atom.  Bohr decided that the electrons orbiting an atom could only exist at certain energy levels.  Different energy levels means that they would have to be at different levels from the nucleus, not at continuous levels as might be expected from Rutherford’s model.
When atoms in the gas tubes absorbed the energy from the electric current, the electrons became excited and jumped from low energy levels  to high energy levels.  That means that they would be moving from close to the nucleus to farther from the nucleus.  Then, the excited electrons would fall back to their original levels and give off energy as light.

So then he came up with the shell idea.  He decided that each electron orbit of the same size or energy (shell) could only hold so many electrons.  The first shell would have 2 electrons, the second shell would have 8, and the third shell or higher would have 8.  Since he couldn’t actually see the electrons nobody knows why he came up with this model, but it seemed to make sense at the time.
The Bohr model could explain the spectra of atoms with one electron in the outer shell very well, but was not very good for those with more than one electron in the outer shell.
Some smart people questioned why electrons should be confined to certain energy levels, and. more importantly, why don’t electrons give off light all the time?

Then, in 1924, a French physicist named Louis de Broglie came along and suggested that electrons could act as both particles and waves, just like light.  People thought he was a little crazy.

Later, an Austrian physicist named Erwin Schrodinger figured out that the French guy was correct!
In fact, the whole question of where exactly the electrons were was one of probabilities.  The electrons could be in any of a number of “electron density clouds” called “orbitals”.  You have to find the densest area of the cloud to have the highest probality of finding the electron.
There are lots of other variables, too.  Like: what is the energy level of the electron?  How fast is it moving?  What is the shape of the orbital?  Where is it in space?  Which direction is the electron spinning?
Another problem is that there are all kinds of “sub-atomic particles” that are part of the atom such as:

Six “flavours” quarks: up, down, bottom, top, strange, and charm;
Six types of leptons: electron, electron neutrino, muon, muon neutrino, tauon, tauon neutrino;
Twelve gauge bosons (force carriers): the photon of electromagnetism, the three W and Z bosons of the weak force, and the eight gluons of the strong force.  I am not making this up!  There is a lot of stuff in an atom and it is all energy.

There are a few other problems with making a “model of an atom”.
Protons and  neutrons are 2000x more massive than the electrons.

Most of an atom is empty space — the electron cloud is a trillion times bigger than the nucleus.

So if I made a nucleus of styrofoam balls, the electrons would be invisible, and somewhere in Texas…maybe.
Here is a picture, but it doesn’t give the actual perspective, just an idea. It’s really not even very close.

Now, there are some other very interesting things about atoms.  The electrons will show up as either particles or waves, depending on what the experimenters expect!  Some people think that the “usual” form is the wave, so what we think (expect) turns that wave into a particle (matter).

Another thing is that 99.99999% of an atom (or anything) is empty space.  There is so much empty space that if you could remove all the empty space, everything in the universe that’s left would fit into the palm of your hand!  Is it really empty space?  Some people think that it is some kind of “plasma” which is a bunch of subatomic particles.  That means that they are smaller than atoms, much smaller.

And the last, most important reason why I can’t make a model of an atom is this:
Electrons are negatively charged energy, protons are positively charged energy, and neutrons are neutral energy.  An atom is energy surrounded by huge amounts of empty space and some more tiny bits of energy.  An atom is not a solid.  It is energy.  How do you make a model of that?  So I wrote this report instead, to set the record straight.

More than 1,000 tons have been used in Afghanistan and more than 3,000 tons in Iraq.

Depleted uranium contamination causes virtually every known illness from acute skin rashes, severe headaches, muscle and joint pain, and general fatigue, to major birth defects, infection, depression, cardiovascular disease, brain tumors, and every other type of cancer. Electronic waste, or e-waste as it is commonly referred to, is unwanted, obsolete, or unusable electronic products such as computers and computer peripherals, televisions, VCRs, DVD players, stereo equipment, and hand-held cell phones. 

A typical 17-inch computer monitor contains approximately 2.2 pounds of lead while a 27-inch color television contains up to 8 pounds of lead. The 500 million computers that became obsolete between 1997 and 2007  contained nearly 1.6 billion pounds of lead.

Even though there is an international treaty banning the export of hazardous waste, the United States is one of only a few countries which have not ratified it.  Other countries which refuse to comply include Haiti and Afghanistan.

The main function of the immune system is to protect the body against foreign invaders such as disease-causing bacteria, fungus, viruses and other toxins.  One of the ways it does this is by producing inflammation, which is when the body produces white blood cells and and other chemicals to protect itself from foreign substances.   

We are constantly told that autoimmune diseases occur when the body “attacks itself” supposedly creating inflammation in healthy tissue.  However, the body knows what it is doing when it tries to protect itself.  Instead of assuming that the body is “attacking itself” we could look at the thousands of toxins in our food and environment and note that in this huge chemical burden the body is doing it’s best to protect itself from poisons.  When we try to halt the inflammation without addressing the underlying CAUSE of the inflammation, we set the stage for more deadly diseases such as cancer.

Studies have shown that when people feel loved or give love they live longer, feel happier, have better health, make more money and are less prone to depression.

Love, compassion and joy make our immune system function better and help fight diseases.

Researchers found happily married people had the best blood pressure, followed by singles. Unhappily married participants fared the worst.

In another study, researchers subjected 16 married women to the threat of an electric shock. When the women were holding their husband’s hand, they showed less response in the brain areas associated with stress. The happier the marriage, the greater the effect.

Researchers at Ohio State University Medical Center gave married couples blister wounds. The wounds healed nearly twice as fast in spouses who interacted warmly compared with those who demonstrated a lot of hostility toward each other. The study was published in the Archives of General Psychiatry.

Oxytocin is a brain chemical that is released when mothers and babies first bond.

Massage, eye contact, hugs, and orgasms all increase oxytocin levels. A close, loving relationship increases the production of this brain chemical (single men and women produce less oxytocin than those in intimate relationships). Any positive experience can increase oxytocin levels – and so can simply recalling positive events.  Oxytocin is associated with positive relationships.

Dr Kai MacDonald and other University of California (San Diego) researchers are theorizing that oxytocin could help with psychological disorders. It reduces fear, increases eye contact, and increases trust and generosity.

In another study, people who considered themselves to be passionately in love were given brain scans (MRIs) and it was seen that the brain sees romantic love as a reward, stimulating activity in the same areas that light up when a person receives any kind of a reward.

Black elderberry has been used as a natural remedy for common ailments such as coughs and colds for centuries but recent research has pinpointed an active element called Antivirin which combats the flu virus. Antivirin is found in proteins of the black elderberry and disarms the flu virus by preventing it from invading healthy cells’ membranes. 

Elderberry has a very high ORAC, or oxygen radical absorption capacity: over twice as much as blueberry. In addition, antioxidants called flavonoids stimulate the immune system. Other compounds in elderberry, called anthocyanins, have an anti-inflammatory effect; which would explain the effect on aches, pains, and fever.

A study done by Erling Thom, with the University of Oslo in Norway, involved 60 patients who had been suffering with flu symptoms for 48 hours or less; 90% were infected with the A strain of the virus, 10% were infected with type B. Half the group took 15 milliliters of Sambucol (a brand of elderberry extract)  and the other group took a placebo four times a day for five days. 

Patients in the Sambucol group had “pronounced improvements” in flu symptoms after three days: Nearly 90% of patients had complete cure within two to three days. Also, the Sambucol group had no drowsiness, the downside of many flu treatments.

The placebo group didn’t recover until at least day six; they also took more painkillers and nasal sprays.

Thom’s findings were presented at the 15th Annual Conference on Antiviral Research in 2002. The study has been accepted for publication in the Journal of International Medical Research.

Subsequent research has also shown black elderberry extract to be effective against the Herpes simplex, HIV and Bird Flu virus.
